Children’s Week WA Launch at PMH

Bali bomb survivor promotes physical and mental health for WA Children’s Week. Strategies to help children be physically active and mental healthy will be highlighted at the launch of the 2013 WA Children’s Week Awards on June 4.

Bali bomb survivor and author of Undefeated, Phil Britten, will take part in the Awards launch and speak of his strong belief in supporting the development of children’s confidence and resilience.

Convened by Meerilinga, the 2013 Awards, which recognise and celebrate the positive ways children contribute to the WA community, will be launched by WA Children’s Week Patron Mrs Tonya McCusker at the Telethon Theatre at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.

Mrs McCusker said the Children’s Week Awards celebrate children’s artistic talents and also recognise groups of children across Western Australia who have shown commitment and engagement in initiatives that support health and wellbeing. “The awards are also an opportunity to acknowledge the delivery of excellence in services to children and families and recognise the unique contributions made by volunteers and the impact of their dedication to WA families”

Nominations for the WA Children’s Week Awards, which offer a share of $10,000 in cash and prizes, close on Friday 16th August.
