On Tuesday 28 March, the Royal Life Saving Society WA gave a free Heat Beat First Aid course to interested community members at Meerilinga Beechboro.
The three hour course covered all manors of injury. From burns, poisoning and choking, to drowning and CPR. Learning essential life-saving skills to offer first-aid to a baby, child, friend, family member or even a stranger, the ladies will not be forgetting DRS ABCD in a hurry! (If you don’t know what that acronym stands for – maybe you should sign up for the next course!)
Reminding us all of the importance of using common sense to enforce preventative measures to keep our kids out of harms way, this was a fun, easy to understand and interactive way to learn some essential life-skills.
Attendees arrived without past first aid experience and left feeling confident enough to be able to respond to any crisis encountered in a calm and clear-headed manor.
On behalf of all who came, a huge thank you goes out to Jaquie for all of her knowledge, simple explanations and sense of humour. All making the day a huge success!
