Meerilinga Bullsbrook Family Service will be running a free 8 week music and movement program titled Move and Groove for families around Bullsbrook Monday mornings 4 May – 22 June 2015. The program has been brought to our Bullsbrook service due to the success of Meerilinga’s permanent Move and Groove Playgroup at our Beechboro Children and Family Centre. The Move and Groove program will be held at Lowery Park Hall, Bullsbrook with the support of City of Swan. Designed for families with children 0-5 years we have found Move and Groove to be excellent for parent and child bonding, developing early language skills and in transitioning children into structured Early Learning Programs.
Move and Groove is Meerilinga’s music and movement program facilitated by Meredith Stanley our Parenting Support Officer. No recorded music is used with all music in the program sung together guided by the leader. Parents are able to have fun guiding their children’s learning through: signing songs with actions, using percussion instruments and encouraging their child’s imagination, with many of the simple songs helping to support and strengthen home routines in a fun way.
Meerilinga Bullsbrook Family Service was formed to support, connect, develop and maintain relationships between families and community organisations within and around Bullsbrook. Meerilinga Services were expanded into Bullsbrook in May 2014 and now consists of a family connection service Mondays at Lowery Park Hall, Bullsbrook and a parent support service on Thursdays at Bullsbrook College. Meerilinga Bullsbrook Services in time will gradually expand based on the needs of the community. Meerilinga Bullsbrook Family Service is proudly supported by the Department of Local Government and Communities.
