The age old problem of getting your children (and yourself – you are your child’s role model) to wear helmets when riding could be a distant memory once you introduce these catchy tunes into the mix! Children LOVE to sing and whether we like it or not, everyone agrees that a catchy tune will get stuck in your head all day. So why not make the tunes something helpful for the entire family?

Road safety is often seen as a long list of “don’ts” for children. But if we can show our children how to get excited about road safety, then hopefully the message will always stick – even in distracting environments.

SDERA (School Drug Education and Road Aware) offer brilliant resources for parents and educators to assist the education of children in road safety. With key messages including Passenger Safety, Pedestrian Safety & Safety on Wheels, SDERA can help you educate children in your care in a fun and simple way. Meerilinga teaches all of the children in our care about road safety, with visits from SDERA’s mascot Izzy the Iguana and even our local traffic controllers. Check out the songs below why not try singing your family towards road safety!
