Cockburn Early Learning Program

At Meerilinga we believe in a balanced approach to teaching and learning.  Our play based ethos encourages our children to wonder, ask questions and to explore the world around them.

Supported by the City of Cockburn, our Coolbellup service is a much loved community hub. We house a variety of services from Street Libraries to adult education programs. Our pre-kindy Early Learning Programs are built around learning through play. Since joining the community a few years ago, we renovated the property and its extensive gardens to create a nature-play wonderland. This enables us to structure quality nature-based play experiences in the natural and built environment. 

Meerilinga Cockburn children look after chickens, a seasonal veggie patch, explore swinging bridges and a play in a sandpit surrounded by trees.

Meerilinga Cockburn aims to promote positive childhoods in Coolbellup. In addition to early education, we support local families and their child’s transition into kindy – and life. To do this, Meerilinga follows ACECQA‘s vision of Belonging, Being & Becoming. We use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to create our educational program. Our team at Meerilinga Cockburn are passionate about letting your child enjoy childhood and helping them make meaningful discoveries by learning through play!
