Cockburn Early Learning Program

At Meerilinga Cockburn, we believe in a balanced approach to teaching and learning. Our play-based ethos encourages our children to wonder, ask questions and explore the world around them.

Supported by the City of Cockburn, our Coolbellup service is a much loved community hub where we host and run a variety of services from a local Street Library to adult education programs, all centred around promoting positive childhoods in our community.

Our Early Learning Programs are built around learning through play and are designed using ACECQA’s Early Years Learning Framework. With this as a teaching tool, we your child is guided by our Early Childhood Educators to make meaningful discoveries through play. We also create quality nature-based experiences, with renovations to our property giving children access to a seasonal veggie patch, the fun of looking after chickens, a swinging bridge and a great sandpit surrounded by shady trees.

Playgroups

No child is too young for a Meerilinga Playgroup! All children from birth to five years love new experiences and can benefit from developing sensory, social and communication skills through our playgroup activities.

Even better, Meerilinga Playgroups are designed to involve and connect parents and families, with caregivers attending alongside their children and retaining responsibility for their wellbeing during each session.

Including at least three families at a time, your local Centre’s Playgroups go on at least once a week and coincide with the School Term, the dates of which can be found on the Department of Education website.
