Achieving Goals with Meerilinga

Introducing Meerilinga Ballajura’s Community Centre Coordinator – Jessica Bjorke-Nielsen!

Jessica has been achieving all of her goals recently, purchasing her childhood home in Ballajura, getting her hands on the wheel of her dream car and now starting as manager of one of the communities best Early Learning Centres!

She brings over 15 years of experience to this new role and a motivation for creating safe spaces for children to learn and play in. One of those spaces that she is most passionate about is the natural environment, where she believes that imagination and curiosity are allowed to run free and so some of the best learning experiences can happen.

Jessica’s love of the nature extends to her home life, where she grows her own food. While she might be teaching children at work, this process at home is helping her to learn more about patience and a respect for nature. We’re excited for how Jessica might further utilise our natural play areas at Ballajura, where we already have a great sandpit, shaded tree areas and a re-developed Bindi Kindi space thanks to Volunteering WA.

While she might choose to slow down and enjoy nature, Jessica also loves to chase the adventure of four-wheel driving and jumping on a quad bike. “I’m a big fan of anything motorsport,” she says, “from racing go-karts to heading to the motorplex. But more than anything, it’s about spending quality time with family.”

As she settles into her role at Ballajura, we asked her what parents should consider when looking for an Early Learning Program. She tells us: “Choose a program that feels warm, safe, and nurturing, where your child can learn through play, build confidence and be supported to grow as an individual.”

We think her advice is a great reflection of what she’s bringing to the Ballajura Centre.

Meet Jessica in person by heading to Meerilinga Ballajura! She’ll be happy to take you on a tour of our Centre and speak to you about what makes Meerilinga a safe place for your child.
