We had a huge month of volunteering in May, with massive contributions by Volunteering WA and Bankwest during and around National Volunteer Week.
Our facilities at High Wycombe and Woodvale both received love and attention when Volunteering WA helped to bring Bankwest on board for corporate volunteer days. Both Centres had their sandpits renewed while the volunteers also made sure to brighten our outdoor play areas with fresh paint and by cleaning the areas in and around our natural environments. We are grateful to Bankwest for their volunteering efforts. As much as it was exciting to watch the work being done through the construction fences that were set up, it has been even more exciting for our children to explore their newly refurbished play areas!
It was also great to be part of the City of Joondalup‘s Volunteer Expo during the recent National Volunteer Week as we spoke to community members about the role they could play in promoting positive childhoods
After a busy National Volunteer Week, it was then great to settle down with our current volunteers last week for a special morning tea. Guided by Meerilinga’s resident artist, Jess, our volunteers enjoyed spending time together as they painted their own versions of a flower arrangement.
Thank you to each of our volunteers for your important work at our Centres. Meerilinga would not be the same without you!
